ARTICLE I SECTION 1: Voting membership shall be open to any person 18 years of age or older in good moral standing who is nominated by a voting member in good standing. Any persons of 18 years or younger, whom a coach may want to help with a team, must be approved by the Board for membership. SECTION 2: All applicants for voting membership shall be submitted in writing at a regular meeting upon a form which will be supplied by the organization. Upon receipt of the application and discussion upon the floor, there shall be a waiting period of one month before the application is voted upon. Anyone making an application for voting membership must be present at the meeting his/her application is accepted and voted upon. The organization shall not prohibit membership based on such items as race, sex, ethic background, or religion. SECTION 3: Voting on a new member shall be by secret written ballots. A new application is accepted if 85% of the voting members present vote affirmatively. The applicant will be notified of acceptance or rejection by the President or Secretary. If an applicant is rejected, he/she may not re-apply for membership for six months from the date of the vote. SECTION 4: Any member may be suspended or expelled from the organization for conduct deemed detrimental to the organization, providing the charges be in writing and filed with the secretary. The secretary will immediately notify in writing the accused and the Board of Directors of said charges. The charges will be read and acted upon at the next regular meeting of the organization. It will require two thirds vote of members present as to the action to be taken. An appeal may be made to the Board of Directors who will consider the verdict and make recommendations to the organization. SECTION 5: Life membership may be bestowed upon any person who has made an outstanding contribution to the organization, athletics or recreation. Lifetime members shall be exempt from payment of dues and shall be extended all privileges of the organization and the right to hold office. Voting for life membership shall be similar to that of new members covered in SECTION 3. SECTION 6: A voting member is a person whose dues are current and who has attended at least three of the last six monthly general meetings. SECTION 7: Any organization member who chooses to depart while in good standing may return to the organization by way of affirmative vote consisting of 85% of the present membership as stated in ARTICLE 1, SECTION 3. This vote however, need not be secret ballot, but a simple and recognized show of hands. The reapplying member will not be present on the floor during the vote. In addition, the previous member need not be nominated, nor required to wait the period of one month as stated in ARTICLE 1, SECTION 2 as it applies to new applicants. If approved by the membership, the returning member need only to pay his/her current dues thereby assuming the states of a member in good standing once again.
