Most leagues and every AAU tournament require thorough completion of registration forms and other documents. Coaches are busy preparing practice plans and game strategy and rarely have enough time to do the administrative work. Coaches depend on Team Parents to handle these matters, including making airplane, hotel and rental car reservations for out-of-town tournaments. The list of tasks sometimes seems endless. Dedicated parents fill in these duties so the team can work on its preparation.
Team parents are an integral part of the organization. Coaches will often deflect praise for their success to the parents who support them. It is well deserved. Parents of Sure Shot players are encouraged to assume leadership for the team and ownership of these important administrative chores.
